Our community, "
Flowers and Numbers," held its second in-person event in January 2025, once again in
St. Petersburg. The wonderful
Liza joined us all the way from Serbia, so we decided to gather, chat, and create some data art in her honor!
This time, we skipped renting a room and opted for a cozy café. I brought along a couple of sketchbooks, two packs of markers, and a few inspiring data art books by
Giorgia Lupi and
Stefanie Posavec for creative sparks.
After plenty of conversation and a good meal, we began collecting data about ourselves—simple details like our work fields, years of experience, number of children and relatives, and various personal preferences.
Of course, we then used this data to create small data art projects. For many of us, this was the first-ever experience with data art, so we had to dive into the creative process in a short time. The results turned out great!
