Flowers & Numbers
Data Art Workshop
Our first face-to-face event of the Flowers and Numbers community took place in June 2024. St. Petersburg.

Nadia Andrianova came to us from Moscow - and in honor of this, we decided to get together personally and create data art! Nadia showed us her best practices of material data art!
We rented a room and brought a bunch of materials - paper, felt-tip pens, scissors, threads, source materials...

Everything went into action! In the photos below, you can see the process of learning techniques and creating our projects. We prepared most of the data sets in advance, and we collected something right at the meeting!

It was wonderful to see the community people in person!
We got several original material art projects on different datasets in the process.
Look - some projects are flat, some are voluminous, and there are both paper and thread. Identifying classic charts in these projects is already difficult - but all the more interesting!

Here are projects on personal travel, the life of our community, the challenge "30 days of charts", book data, and personal history of YouTube!
I hope that such an event will be only the first in the list of our community events! We will be glad to see you at them!
Our community already exists in different cities of our country and beyond, so I would like such meetings to take place in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, the Urals, European cities, and other wonderful places!

Let's meet, and share experiences and inspiration! It's more fun to create together!

Other Our Projects
Data-postcards!
Our community is already international enough to be interested in where and who lives. We send postcards to each other, and also celebrate this fact, collecting data on the geographical location of the participants and the speed of the mail!

Community Data-Badges
It all started with this project in 2024. The first task within the framework of the data art practice was to make data badges based on a simple dataset about the skills of community members - personal badges of each participant. What came of it, see the link!

Data-walk
In June 2024, we had the first personal meeting of the St. Petersburg branch of the community. Since the community is international, this is a very good crowding! As part of the events, Ulyana organized a data walk, during which we collected data in order to visualize them later!
